Knowledge to Ponder: Matthew 6: 25-34
Have you ever faced a decision so big that it felt like the weight of the world was on your shoulders? Like, one wrong move and everything could fall apart?
That was me. Stuck. Overthinking. Praying. Crying. Worrying. Praying some more.
I needed help. I needed direction. I needed some kind of sign to tell me I wasn’t about to make a mess of everything. But the more I thought about it, the more anxious I became.
I kept reminding myself: “Let tomorrow be tomorrow; not today.”
I wanted to believe everything would work itself out. I wanted to trust that God had it under control.
But I was struggling.
Fast Forward Two Weeks…
After all that worrying, crying, and second-guessing, guess what happened?
Everything worked itself out.
Finances aligned. Pieces of the issue dissolved. I found peace in a way I never expected.
And when I looked back, I actually laughed at myself—like full-on belly laughed. Because why had I spent weeks stressing about something God had already taken care of?
I had robbed myself of joy, peace, and even quality time with God, all because I let fear take the driver’s seat.
Where Was My Faith?
That was the real question. How could I claim to trust God but let worry consume me like that?
Instead of appreciating each new day, I spent my mornings stressed out and my nights restless—all over something I couldn’t fix on my own.
But here’s what Matthew 6:25-34 reminds us: God’s got us.
If He takes care of the birds in the sky and the flowers in the field, how much more will He take care of us—His children?
He never promised things would happen exactly when or how we want, but He did promise to provide.
And honestly? That’s all we need to know.
Even God Took It One Day at a Time
Think about it—when God created the world, He did it one day at a time.
He could have spoken everything into existence all at once. But instead, He intentionally created something new each day.
Maybe that’s a lesson for us: to slow down and trust the process.
3 Key Takeaways
✅ Faith is the antidote to worry. The more you worry, the more distance you put between yourself and your faith. Instead of spiraling, start declaring: “God, I trust You to handle this.” Say it often. Say it until you believe it.
✅ Let God handle what you can’t. Spoiler alert: You’re not supposed to fix everything on your own. So when things don’t go as planned, take a deep breath and say, “Alright, God. It’s on You now.” And then actually leave it in His hands.
✅ Seeking God is a daily thing. Don’t just go to Him when you need something. Build that relationship every day—through praise, gratitude, and just talking to Him. A friendship that’s only based on asking for favors? Yeah… that’s not a real friendship.
Final Thought
Corrie ten Boom once said: “Worry does not empty tomorrow of sorrow, but it empties today of strength.”
She was so right. Worry drains you. It steals your joy. And worst of all, it makes you forget who is actually in control.
Prayer:
Lord, help me to walk in faith, not fear. Teach me to trust You in every decision, big or small. And when I start to worry, remind me that You are already working things out for my good. Thank You for carrying me, guiding me, and never letting me fall. Amen.
Now, you know what time it is—worship time!
